Bhopal Gas Incident : Burning of Union Carbide waste started in Pithampur. It will have side effects?

Bhopal Gas Incident : As per the court’s instructions, a trial run of burning a total of 30 tonnes of garbage is being done in Pithampura. Under this, burning of garbage has started. Its report will be presented in the court. Tight security arrangements have been made during this process. More than 500 policemen and two ambulances have been deployed.

Burning of Union Carbide’s waste started in Pithampur after noon. Ten tons of waste will be burnt in three days. The temperature of 800 and 1200 degrees was kept in two incinerators and the waste was burnt in them. The ashes that remain from it will be landfilled in the Ramki plant in Pithampur itself. The report of the trial run of 30 tons will be presented in the High Court. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh said that the results were assessed during burning of waste. If there is no problem during execution, the process will continue. This is also mentioned in the High Court’s instructions.

Before this, the process of burning the garbage had started at 10 am. 9 kg packets were made by mixing lime with the garbage. An attempt is being made to reduce the effect of poison through lime. The incinerator was warmed up since morning. The garbage was put into the incinerator after the temperature reached more than 900 degrees. More than 500 police personnel have been deployed in the village and surrounding areas near the company. Two ambulances are also roaming in the village.

A total of 30 tons of garbage will be burnt on the court’s direction. The report of this trial run will be presented in the court. After that, the remaining garbage will be burnt. A total of 337 tons of garbage has been brought from Bhopal to Indore in 12 containers. These containers have been kept in Pithampur for 57 days. Currently, five containers have been opened. Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra said that the process of burning garbage is going on. It will take three days to dispose of ten tons of garbage. Trial run of garbage is being done as per the parameters set by the High Court.
