JVC TV India representative Pallavi Singh said, “I request the Finance Minister to reduce GST on televisions from 28% to 18%. Televisions should not be considered a luxury item and the current tax rate is too high for the common people. Raw materials are taxed at 18% while finished products like televisions are taxed at 28% due to which imbalance is created and burden on the imports.
